Amen. Please let us never forget Jesus Christ, the Master of our lives, who gave us breath, the strength to move, and provided the necessities of life, industry, water, food, and a place to dwell. It was a simple expression, but a very meaningful one. Right. Should this salvation that God gave us, this jackpot, become a small box? Right? Yes. Thank you. That is correct. I hope this journey of learning to love and resemble God more will continue. There are many good verses in the Bible, but I also like 1 John 4:19. It is written here: 'We love because He...' Who is He? It is God. God first loved whom? Us. Yes. That is correct. He loved me first. So, the fact that God is love, and that God is love and loved us first, is a very grateful word. A few years ago, I went to a meeting at the Romada Church, and a deacon gave me this book written by the philosopher Kim Hyung-seok. There were many noble passages, but the one that touched me the most was this: 'I was happy because there was love even in the midst of much hardship.' He rephrased this love as God. So, 'I was happy because God was there even in the midst of much hardship.' If there had been no hardship with love, no hardship with God, my life would have disappeared meaninglessly.

Because there was love, because there was God, I am happy. He said. I hope you are happy too. Amen. Whenever you have a chance, I recommend you get this book and read it. Today is Tuesday, continuing from yesterday's 'Innovation of Salvation,' today, under the theme of 'Innovation of Practice,' we will study together through the words in Luke chapter 10 about neighborly love and social solidarity. Now, God is good all the time. All the time. We are... Let's start with a short prayer. Heavenly Father, thank You. Thank You for granting us new life every day. We are not people who live once, but people who live every day. Thank You for being able to be with God in this daily life. Amen. Please be with us and lead us. I prayed all these words in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen. It seems there are many people who don't know much about me. In 1991, at the Spencer Church in Maryland, the church where Pastor Yang Wan-ju was serving, my wife and I, along with my mother, were baptized. It's already been 35 years.

There are members here who were at the Spencer Church at that time. There are people who celebrated our baptism, and we had many difficulties. After being baptized, we were kicked out of our house, and it was truly a journey in darkness, but our members helped us a lot. They helped us in many ways, both materially and spiritually, and prayed for us, so I am very grateful that I have been given the way to boldly share the Word in front of you today, even with my short knowledge, while there are many senior pastors who are more virtuous than I am. God is good all the time. So, rather than the question 'How can I obtain eternal life?', rather than the question 'How can I be saved?', I think we should focus more on the question 'For what were we saved?'. So, shall we all read it together? 'Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.' So, I think this 'coming' and 'being done' has truly been realized clearly, substantially, and visibly. You probably know the very famous sermon by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., 'I Have a Dream.' I have a dream.

It is a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.' I have a dream. It is a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream. It is a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and equality. I have a dream. It is a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today. Many people think that while listening to this sermon, he focused on racial conflict. Well, that wouldn't be a wrong perspective. However, I think this pastor's sermon was talking about how the Kingdom of God should be clearly realized on this earth.

So, I think the most important thing we should consider is how my family, my neighbors, and my society become the Kingdom of God because of me. But we keep forgetting. Do you know this FedEx logo? This FedEx logo, in 1964, a person named Fred Smith created this company. At that time, this was an unacceptable situation. The US Postal Service was doing everything. The idea of privatizing this was something that didn't make sense in itself. But anyway, when this person created this logo, he incorporated two of the most important basic values into what is called 'negative space,' in a place that is not visible. One is an arrow that indicates direction, and the other is a spoon that we use when we eat. It's a spoon. Now, raise your hand if you can see the arrow that indicates direction. Yes.

Raise your hand if you can't see it. Yes. Yes. Those who don't know what situation this is, either. Yes. Now, look. If you look here, there is an arrow that indicates direction. Yes. This arrow that indicates direction means that we are moving goods from point A to point B, and the spoon. The spoon is right here. Yes. So, the FedEx Care Foundation has been dedicating and investing in social activities and social service for almost 50 years. But they do it very quietly. They don't make a big fuss. But this person always looks at FedEx and asks why we exist. Yes. So, this person didn't start this to make money from the beginning, but how can we change the world? How can we make people live in the abundance and wholeness that God wants? So, he put in this spoon and this direction arrow. But we pass by it every day, but we don't know. Yes.

This passes in front of us every day, and sometimes we have to be behind that truck. But while looking at it, we pass by without knowing at all. That's how it is. Not knowing. Yes. Because we became frogs in a well, we forgot what the ocean looks like. So, 'Innovation of Practice,' today, I am going to talk to the members again about neighborly love and social solidarity with a very easy story, a story that everyone knows. This lawyer, this teacher of the law who appears in Luke chapter 10, and this official who appears in Luke chapter 18, these two are different people. They are not the same person. Some people think they are the same person and that this same story was repeated, but that's not it. The lawyer and the official are friends. These two. These two friends were plotting that day to trap Jesus and make Him look bad, and that is the situation in which they approached Jesus. Do you understand? When you buy a house, the realtor and the loan officer work together. That's how it is. The lawyer and the official were people who were always stuck together, and these two are approaching to put Jesus in a difficult situation. So, while looking at this story, I have several dreams. My first dream is a society without discrimination and division.

It is a society without discrimination and division. In what sense? The lawyer stood up and tested Jesus, saying, 'Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?' He asks. We read the Bible like this, reverently: 'A certain lawyer stood up and tested Jesus, saying, Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?' That's how we talk about and interpret the Bible. But the event that morning was not in that tone. What kind of tone was it? 'Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?' So, 'What must I do to inherit eternal life?' He is being sarcastic. Do you understand what I mean? He came to Jesus with a sarcastic attitude, 'What must I do...' Why? First, the lawyer is treating Jesus as a very lowly person. 'Who are you? You came from Galilee, from Nazareth, from this backwater place,' he is saying now. Yes. I am a person from Gyeongsang-do, from Andong, so what does a country person know? 'If you study, how much have you done? I am a lawyer. I am a person with a PhD.' That's what it is. Do you understand what I mean? 'What do you know to come and act like a teacher?' he is saying.

Yes. So, he comes and says, 'What must I do to inherit eternal life?' He is asking a question that isn't even at an elementary school level. Those people don't ask such questions. Why? The Jews, the people of Israel, these Hebrews are the chosen people. They are not people who obtain eternal life by doing something. They are the people chosen by God, and because God is with them, they are people who already have eternal life. So, they don't ask such questions. But he must have looked down on Jesus so much to be asking a question that isn't even at an elementary school level now. Do you understand? Yes. Interesting, right? Yes. It's interesting. So, I think like this. Like the words in Galatians 3:28, I hope it becomes a society without racial discrimination, 'There is neither Jew nor Greek.' Amen. Amen. Also, 'neither slave nor free,' I hope it becomes a world that is not a society that discriminates against people based on the difference between rich and poor. 'Neither male nor female,' I hope it becomes a Kingdom of God without gender differences, where who can do what, who cannot do what, who can have what position, and who cannot have what position.

And I hope it becomes a society where we all live without forgetting that we are one in Jesus Christ. Uh, you are not saying 'Amen' much. It seems you are thinking a lot. So, first, a society without discrimination and division. Do you say Amen? Yes. Amen. Now, the second dream. My second dream is a society that is not a heaven-centered faith, but a Jesus Christ-centered faith. If you keep looking here, Jesus now counters the lawyer. He asks a ridiculous question. So, Jesus looks here and thinks, 'This person is coming to me now to pick a fight.' But, but He doesn't refute it. So, we truly... [Sniffs] When we learn leadership, we talk a lot about these verses. I will talk a little bit about leadership tomorrow. We study this conversation for a few days. Oh, what can we learn here? But Jesus, so, honestly speaking, 'taking the high road,' yes, from a high-dimensional perspective, He is not having a conversation in the same state as that lawyer, but in a more dignified state, 'What is written in the law? How do you understand the law?' That 'How do you read it?' means 'How do you understand it?' So, what is written in the Bible

and how do you understand the Bible? That's what it means. Do you understand? Now, why am I saying this? We look at Daniel 12:4 and look at the Bible with a 'futuristic' perspective. There are many times when we do that. Well, that's not wrong, and there might be times when we need to have such conversations. But this Daniel, 'But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.' So, in the English Bible, it says 'run to and fro,' and while reading this, many people say, 'Oh, this is not a generation that rides horses, but a generation that rides airplanes, and now it's not a generation that writes on paper, but an AI era, so civilization is developing, and knowledge is increasing due to the development of machines.' They have such conversations. Yes. That's not necessarily wrong, but the interesting fact is, as I said yesterday, while I was serving as a military chaplain, I spent time with chaplains of various other religions. Among them, Rabbi Gruss, who was a professor at the University of Chicago and Hebrew University, has now gone to Maryland. While he was always having this conversation with me, he laughed out loud and said to me, 'This is an absurd interpretation.' Why? Because the word 'run to and fro' is the Hebrew word 'shuv,' which means 'run to'

and back and forth. It means going forward and backward. So, this sound of 'running to and fro' that Daniel is talking about means studying the Bible. This Bible, in the past, it wasn't like flipping pages one by one, it was a scroll. Right? It was rolled up inside from both sides as a scroll, so to read the Bible, what did you have to do? Go forward. Go backward. Right? 'To and fro,' 'back and forth.' So, knowledge will increase while studying the Bible diligently. Do you understand? Yes. But Daniel is talking about that now, but we look at it and say, 'Oh, this is because of machine civilization, we are quickly gaining knowledge,' and we look at the Bible with our thoughts, our 'spectives,' our values. But it's the same then and now. There's not much difference. There's not much difference. The Pharisees come and ask Jesus, God, Jesus.

When will the Kingdom of God come? 'When,' they ask. But to this question, Jesus says, 'The Kingdom of God does not come with observation, nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the Kingdom of God is within you.' And He used this word, which is the word 'entos,' and it is a very interesting and meaningful word. Simply put, Jesus is saying to the Pharisees, 'I am the King. I am the King of the Kingdom of God.' Do you understand? Yes. 'Where I am, where I am, the time I am in, that is the Kingdom of God, the realm.' That is what He is saying. Also, this word is interesting, all those who follow God, all those who belong to Jesus Christ, it refers to all of us, right? All the people who live belonging to Jesus Christ, their lives, their families, their neighbors, their workplaces, schools, all those realms are the Kingdom of God. Amen.

Yes. So, Jesus is saying to these Pharisees now, 'Your question is wrong.' The focus is not 'when,' but 'where.' Where? Yes. How is the Kingdom of God being experienced through you, through your life, through your workplace, society, and family? How is the Kingdom of God being experienced through you? That is what He is talking about. It's a very interesting conversation. Yes. But sometimes we like 'when' more. When I was working in the NA, in North America, [Sniffs], I had a very good, unexpected opportunity. It was the process of reorganizing and publishing the words of the 'City Mission' book, and I participated in that. So, while working together, we discovered several amazing facts, and I will tell you just one of them. Simply put, Mrs. White spoke about city ministry and country living 107 times. She spoke about it, but among these 107 counsels, 24 of the counsels were related to country living. It was direct.

However, 80% of the 24 counsels were reasons why Mrs. White recommended country living to people. The first was for people with weak bodies. As this society became increasingly urbanized, in the midst of machine civilization, many people began to get sick because of a lot of pollution and the environment not being good. So, Mrs. White recommended, 'People who are getting sick in the city, go to the country and live in a good environment.' The second was the issue of educating young children. There weren't many schools in the city, and at that time, there were almost none. They had to go to public schools, 'public schools,' operated by the country, and the environment was not good for them to grow up experiencing God's love and grace. So, she said, 'Wouldn't country living be better for them than city living?' And the third was the weakness that many people had. So, the city was becoming, simply put, evil. So, 'temptation' increased.

There were many temptations. Bars were built, and people kept falling into this and that, and kept committing sins and couldn't get out, so Mrs. White recommended to those people, 'Rather than that environment, it is better to leave for a place where there are no such temptations.' Do you understand? Now, the interesting fact is, what was the 83 counsels compared to the 24 counsels of country living? It was 'City Mission.' She said we should do city mission in the city. But the leaders at that time considered what more important? Country living. 24 counsels of country living. They completely ignored the 83 counsels of city mission. That is how much our faith ethics change depending on where we focus. Do you understand? My wife and I were invited to Jamaica and went there, and as the pandemic started, some of our church members in Jamaica went into that mountain called Blue Mountain. They went in and didn't come down.

Even after the pandemic ended, they didn't come down, so people went to find them and talk to them, but they said they wouldn't listen at all. But the pastor who led that group into the mountain was preaching through James 1:27, saying this. 'Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.' He completely left out the middle part, yes, so he said, 'To keep ourselves unspotted from the world, we must go into the mountains and prepare for pure and undefiled religion.' But what is James saying? What James is saying is exactly visiting and caring for orphans and widows in their trouble, and he is saying that the state of not doing that is the state of being 'spotted by the world.' So, what is the pure and undefiled religion that God wants? It is exactly the work of caring for orphans and widows in their trouble. Amen. It is not a sound to leave the city and go into the mountains. Yes. But I am worried that because of the values we have, we are living a life of faith that is increasingly deviating from God's will. So, my second dream is to become a Christ-centered life faith from a heaven-centered faith. Do you say Amen? Amen. Now, the third dream. Yes.

Since I have eight, I will do it slowly. Don't worry. Yes. I have eight, but the third is, I wish you would love yourself a little. More than any other verse, Jesus says this: 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.' But I think there are people who sometimes don't know how to love themselves. God loved you. Do you say Amen? Yes. It is not because of any qualification of ours that God loved us, but because we are God's people. Yes. You all like that song, right? 'A person born to be loved.' Right? We are people who exist because God loves us. So, what does Isaiah say? Shall we read it together? 'I have called you by your name; you are Mine.'

I have engraved you on the palms of My hands, and shall we read it again? 'But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.' 'Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.' It is not because of any qualification of ours that God saved us, but because of God's love that He saved us. All of you members are people whom God loves. But looking at myself, I think, 'I don't deserve to be loved. I don't deserve to be saved. I don't deserve to go to church.' I hope we stop thinking like that. Do you say Amen? Amen. Yes. We are people who are worthy enough to be loved. Doesn't God [Sniffs] say He loves us? Then isn't that enough? When someone says to me, 'I love you,' I feel good. When I wake up in the morning and my wife says, 'I love you,' I feel good. Yes. I wish she would say it often. Yes.

Yes. Always say 'I love you' to the person next to you. Yes. I love you. That's not, yes. It's not like this, but yes. You are worthy enough to be loved. Now. Now. Third. So, love yourself, and the fourth is people who serve humbly. People who serve humbly. Now, it says, 'to justify himself.' 'To justify' is a very interesting word. This word 'justify' is, he has a big head. His head has grown big, so he is in a state where he cannot be humble. Yes. Because his head has grown big and he cannot be humble, he always tries to do what to himself? Justify himself. Yes. So, because he tries to justify himself, what problem arises? He speaks ill of other people. To make sure that I am right, he focuses on the fact that other people are wrong. He is talking about that state now. To justify himself. So, what does Jesus say in the Bible, in Matthew chapter 23?

'Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.' But these two words are interesting, this word 'humility' is the root word. Yes. Humility. It means humility. Humility. Yes. Yes. This humility becomes the basis for the same word for 'humbled' and 'exalted.' This word 'humility' is, in Latin, it's 'humilitas,' and the word 'humanity' came from it. But the interesting thing is, this word 'humility' is, in Hebrew, in the Old Testament language, it means 'dust.' Dust. Humility means dust. But why does it mean dust? Where was Adam made? He was made from dust. So, the meaning of Adam's name, 'man,' and the meaning of 'human,' these two words are based on the same meaning of dust. Yes. Dust. Dust. So, this word 'dust' is the word for humility. Yes. To be humble means that we are beings like dust. Yes.

Beings like dust. Beings like the earth. But it's interesting. This problem arose because of sin, but what was the work Adam did in the Garden of Eden? So, Adam didn't have any work. There was only one. It was the work of giving names to all the animals. When God brought those animals, he did the work of giving names to the animals God created. This Adam. So, when Jesus, God created the woman, Adam said, 'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.' Yes. It is written like that, right? Yes. So, he said she shall be called woman. So, he called her bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. Now, this is before sinning. Before sinning, Adam looked at his wife and said, 'Bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.' He is saying she is the most important person. Right? But after sin destroyed all this wholeness, what is the first thing Adam did?

That Adam named his wife Eve. What did I say the work he was doing was? The work of naming animals. But what is the first thing he did after sinning? He named his wife. He started treating her like an animal. He thinks Eve is his possession. He thinks he is the person who rules over Eve. Do you understand what I mean? Yes. Why are you wearing a pony?' I thought it was so pretty, and I brought it carefully, even though it was wrinkled, and tied it, but she said absolutely not, that it was a pony and wouldn't do. She gave me the neat tie I always wore and told me to wear that. She said that since it's the first day, I should greet everyone neatly. I had everything prepared, but ah, there wasn't much about my father. He wasn't the protagonist of this moment.

I took him to my room, prayed, and spent the whole night preparing a new message. I would like to tell you about my father, whom you are curious about. This is my father. We look a bit alike, right? Yes. But this story is my father's story, but it is actually a story of worldly power. My father graduated from Pusan National University Medical School, and he was truly the best genius at the time. Just graduating from medical school couldn't cover my father's wisdom, knowledge, and fame; he was that smart and famous. My father became a doctor and, wanting to earn a lot of money, pioneered plastic surgery, but at that time, plastic surgery was not cosmetic surgery. It was all reconstructive surgery, fixing broken and ruined faces, and my father was almost the first runner in Korea to do cosmetic plastic surgery. He started earning a tremendous amount of money. And at that time, since there was no internet, all advertisements, expensive advertisements, were done through various newspapers called sports newspapers, and my father's hospital was advertised the largest in almost every sports newspaper in Korea.

I looked for a map yesterday to see if the hospital my father had a long time ago still remained, and it's here. But the hospital my father had in the past disappeared, and an apartment was built on that site. This land was my father's land. With your vast wealth, yes. What did you do? If you are so successful, have a lot of money, and have honor, what would you do? Yes. He drank alcohol, smoked cigarettes, and sought alcohol and meat every day, living a truly dissolute life. And after that, what did he do? He would collapse drunk, and when he came to his senses, he would hit my mother, criticize God, and persecute our family. When my father came home drunk, we all had to kneel. From my mother to us, we all had to kneel and listen to lectures all night long. We had to listen all night to how evil God is and how foolish we are. My mother would always cry and say, 'Children, that's not it. That's not it.' If we made excuses, the violence would start again. That was my father's life that I saw.

This is the law of man. We humans think we are wise, but we end up falling into the law of man, chasing wealth, honor, and power, living a dissolute life, not caring for others, and trying to exalt only ourselves. My father had power, and that power seemed like it would never collapse. My mother seemed like she would have to live like a slave like that for the rest of her life. How can that wealth, honor, and that power be brought down? Yes. Because he had honor and money, friends followed him. When my father told them to come, our house was full. With people. [Clears throat] But, would such a person listen to others? No, my father didn't listen to anyone. At that time, there was a relative who was richer than my father, and it was my aunt. My aunt ran a company, and she was running a truly, truly famous company. Of course, it was a small and medium-sized enterprise, but she was the representative of a small and medium-sized enterprise that most people would know.

She was truly rich. But one day, that aunt came to my father and asked to borrow money. Ah, he was a tycoon who lacked nothing when it came to money, but she came to borrow money from my father. It was a truly unfamiliar situation. But my father grew up as an orphan, so he cherished his aunt terribly. He really cherished her terribly. He cherished her like his own child. She is his younger sister. But my aunt said, 'Brother, such a thing has never happened before, but money isn't circulating. We gave all the goods, but the money isn't coming in, so there's no way to fill it immediately. So, how much money do you have? Please lend me all of it.' She said that. So, I don't know how much it was at the time, but since it was a long time ago, I converted that money into today's money. Then that money was worth several apartments. It was money worth billions of won. He lent all his entire fortune that day without even consulting my mother. 'Take it and fill the difficult situation first.'

It was my father's entire fortune. Among his cash. But everyone, that explosion happened. Yes. That solid company of my aunt went bankrupt in one shot. There was no way to pay it back. All that wealth my father had disappeared in an instant without anything left. Yes. A human being is collapsed. But who helped that collapsing father stand up? Yes. My mother approached my father one day. And then, she was supporting my father and coming out, which was truly unbelievable. Smiling. 'Ah, it was like that,' she said, supporting my father and coming out to the living room smiling, and they were eating and starting their lives again. It was so amazing. What did Mom say to Dad? But my father, that smart doctor, it's truly unbelievable, he didn't know what gout was.

It's incomprehensible, right? He didn't know what that gout was, so he left it alone for several years. Yes. He got gout, and his joints started to melt. At first, it's nothing, but if you leave it alone for a long time, the deposited crystals melt, and it starts to crumble due to inflammation. So my father started not being able to use his hands. Because his joints all melted. But if it's about that much, you get better if you have surgery, right? My father had problems every time he had surgery. He got a common cataract, but during surgery, this lens burst, and blood started to pool in his eye. So, because of what's called floaters, blood floated around, and he started not being able to see well in front. And he had gout surgery, but his bones all melted, so they said he couldn't use his hands unless he transplanted his hip bone. His joints didn't move because he transplanted his own bone. He kept getting sick. He became fatter, and that smart doctor, when my mother said let's eat healthy, she loved the Spirit of Prophecy so much that she gave him brown rice, and the doctor who threw away such yellow rice at this smart doctor in the world started to get sick. But while being persecuted every day, crying, secretly eating brown rice, being scolded by me like that, and being fed carrot juice in the morning, 'Sang-ae, please, can't you just drink one cup of this?' begging and feeding him, and being persecuted by me to clean it up,

While being persecuted, my mother, who tried to keep that word, when she went to exercise, she had to hear all sorts of insults from my father, saying, 'Are you practicing what's in that word again?' but she said she had to exercise, so she went out early every morning, drew water, and said, 'Honey, I brought mineral water for you,' and my mother, who exercised, didn't have a single disease. I went to the health center with my mom, and I followed her, and she was really like a squirrel. I couldn't keep up with that elderly mother. Yes. God may seem to lack knowledge and wisdom, but He surely protects the people who obey Him. If the trials for my father ended with just this, I wouldn't be able to handle it, but now that he has no money and is a sick person, who is staying by his side? Everyone, to a person who has no money, whose hands don't move because he's sick, and who lives relying on medicine, do you think those worldly friends are still there? Yes. Now friends started to leave. Even if my father called, those many people don't come anymore. Who is only by his side?

Yes. By my father's side, there was only my mother. Everyone, by this time, shouldn't my mother run away? It's the chance of a lifetime. Yes. 'Ah, it's good for you, try living well.' It's a chance to take revenge. My mother talked to my father about Jesus every moment. Yes. 'Honey, wouldn't I be upset too? But when I pray, Jesus tells me not to. Jesus tells me to stay by your side. Yes. The reason I met you, the reason I can forgive you, the reason I can stay by your side is truly because of Jesus alone. You have to know that.' My mother repeated that story every moment. Then my father started to lose his spirit. Yes. If he heard that, in the past, he would have hit her, but now he is listening. Where is his pride? He is about to become a beggar. Yes. But the trial didn't end there. My father is trying to make a comeback and is opening a hospital. Since he has skills, wouldn't something work out? He opened a hospital, but now what happens?

Impatience arises. Since he failed, he starts doing things recklessly. Like before, he could have done it comfortably without being greedy, but how is a person's heart? He wants to find the fame he had before. He wants to enjoy the wealth he had before again. So he started to overdo it. Then my father fell into the trap of a swindler. Yes. A swindler, a truly bad swindler, came to my father, and this story involves legal issues, so I can't tell it well. But that swindler secretly performed non-medical treatments in my father's name. Yes. He secretly received money from patients who came hearing my father's fame, and even though he wasn't a doctor, he performed surgeries and managed the hospital. My father didn't know at all. Why, my father, what were his eyes covered with? Yes. His eyes were covered with money. Because he had to earn money quickly and recover. But as that incident exploded, it started to be reported on the news. Do you know what is so amazing?

My father's hospital, he had several. There were so many, and he was famous, had honor, and had power, so it seemed like he wouldn't collapse, right? But because he was famous, he collapsed even more urgently in one shot. Because it was a hospital everyone knew, it became a mess. 'Isn't there a problem with me too?' So all sorts of people started to sue my father. Yes. My father started to groan all night trying to protect the remaining property. He lay down sick. What did my mother say? 'Honey, don't have any attachment to anything.' Yes. So my mother sold all the remaining property, not cash, and used it for the lawsuit costs. She settled everything. My father is trying to die out of injustice. 'Honey, I didn't do it. It's not my fault.' 'It doesn't matter. If you lose your health, you lose everything.' My mother gave up money for my father's health. She gave everyone what they asked for. Yes.

I will give it. Yes. But even so, many people sued him in court, and he went to court. But who would be the only person who could testify and prove that my father was innocent? It was the nurses. Yes. The nurses know who my father operated on. So my mother went to find the nurses. My mother is truly stubborn and truly foolish. She doesn't know the ways of the world. 'Will it work if you go find them? They must already be in cahoots. They committed fraud on such a big scale.' The words my mother said while going were that. 'I don't really wish for anything. Yes. That person who committed the fraud was so scary that I really feel even a threat to my life. So I'm really sorry that I don't think we can all tell the truth.' What did my mother do there? Yes. She prayed for her and said it was okay. Yes. 'It's okay. Yes. Don't worry. We'll take care of it.' Yes. And what happened to my father? He went to prison. When my father went to trial, I followed him. My mother, too, now everyone, people who are arrogant and have authority and look great are weak in crises. When a trial actually comes, they can't stand. But when such a trial comes, who is the bold one? Only my mother. Everyone doesn't know what to do about Dad, but my mother was always praying that morning. And when she finished praying, there is truly no one as bold as her in the world. She was always persecuted and looked foolish, but there is no one who can look as reliable and like light as her.

When my mother went out confidently, I asked out of curiosity, 'Mom, is there a solution?' 'No.' 'Then why are you so confident?' 'I prayed. I asked God.' Until Mom asked God, Mom is afraid. But because Mom asked God, God is surely with us. 'Oh, then the result is what God allowed.' So Mom can be bold. While my father was trembling, I was looking for that judge. Now he has no money, right? He has no real estate. His health is ruined, and it's hard for him to manage his own body. But he ended up going to prison. Can he hold his head up? The day he went to prison, I had to go to school, so I couldn't go, and my mother went with him. My father, before going to prison, always prayed with us. 'Sang-ae, let's pray together. Let's pray for Dad.' My mother always prayed for my father. 'Let's pray that God will be with Father.' 'Oh, then even if it's prison, Mom can be at ease. Because God will be with him.' The world's successful friends are not there, and only that one woman is following him. Can that man entering prison hold his head up?

What words can he say? He couldn't even speak once, hung his head, and was really just like a sinner. What did my mother say? 'Good, yes, you should be punished,' did she say? God's law is not like that. I remember the story my mother told my father so vividly because I liked it so much: 'Honey, I gathered with the children and prayed for you. And since we will always pray, don't worry and go. I will visit you often.' My father still couldn't hold his head up. 'Honey, at least quit smoking while you're there.' My father smoked so much that the house was a den of smoke. Yes. Just doing that is doing a great thing. 'Think of it as entering a smoking cessation clinic since your health was getting worse. I think that time is valuable enough if you just quit smoking. If so, I think I would rather have sent you to prison on purpose.' And she said this at the end.

Honey, don't be afraid. Because you are too arrogant, God is humbling you. God is trying to meet you, so don't be afraid. We will pray.' Everyone, God's law is a law of love. We have misunderstood God's law. We have continued to misunderstand it, are still misunderstanding it, and will continue to misunderstand it in the future. That is why Jesus Christ came to this earth. 'By giving Christ as a gift, it shows that God's hatred for sin is as strong as death, but His love for the sinner is stronger than death. Use this gift to assure humanity that there is no love greater than My love. They will find the greatest happiness by loving Me.' God's law is for us to resemble Jesus Christ and convey that love to people who do not know God. There is such a beautiful law, so why are we not following this law and following the law of man? It is because there has been a great controversy between good and evil since the beginning.

The war over God's law began in heaven, and that war will continue until the end of the world. Everyone will be tested. Obedience or disobedience is a problem that the whole world must decide. Everyone will be required to choose between God's law and man's law. At that time, the separation will be made, and there will be only two categories of people. All characters will be revealed clearly, and everyone will show whether they have chosen the side of loyalty or the side of rebellion. Everyone, when I was young, I now know why my father persecuted my mother so much when she went to church, read the Bible, or told us about God, and why he childishly made her choose between the two between my mother and father. That is Satan's spirit speaking instead through my father's voice. Because Jesus loved us so much that He broke Satan's power and set free those who were captured by him.

Because the angry Satan here has summoned all his forces to oppose Christ's work of redeeming us at every stage. [Snorts] Everyone, which law should we choose? It is not easy, but we must follow the law of heaven. But everyone, there is one thing I couldn't accept here. Ah, wait. The one thing I couldn't accept at all is why God loves even that sinner. I wish my father, who was cruel, ruthless, and committed sins, would be punished a little. But God, even my father, thought of him with compassion. Just for that, he did that to us. Ah, I resent Dad so much and hate him. But God was meeting my father like that. While I didn't know, Satan was actually attacking me, and God was meeting my father. My father was changing little by little through my mother's prayer and love, and now that he has no friends, where should he go? He started attending church. No one in the world welcomes my father, but who welcomes my father? Yes. The church welcomed my father consistently. Because Jesus' church is a place where sinners go. So I didn't know that and was continuing to hate my father. I didn't want to read with him even for a day. I found a photo, and it's my father at church. Ah, really. Yes. Yes. My father's age [Snorts] is old, and he's a doctor, so the church gave him the position of elder. That is the mistake of a lifetime. You shouldn't give such a position to someone like my father.

He had liver cancer. 'Ah, my Dad will be hurt again.' Yes. And when I returned, the word 'death,' which was truly unfamiliar, touched me. I thought death was a very unfamiliar and distant world. 'Ah, they existed until yesterday, but now they don't exist.' That was so amazing. But next, a call came from the military again. But no hospital knew the cause of that collapse. My father didn't know, and they couldn't find the cause. He just collapsed without consciousness and was hospitalized. But I was a pharmacist at that time, but even looking at my father, I didn't know anything. I encountered my ignorance for the first time. I just wasted time to get a pharmacist license, and I didn't know anything. I didn't know why Dad was sick, and now that I'm a pharmacist, I didn't know why the prescribed medicine was prescribed. I knew my ignorance and incompetence at that time. [Snorts] And one day, I started praying under my desk. I had never prayed seriously. I was praying at the desk, and for the first time, I started telling God my heart. Yes. 'God, I thought I hated my father, but I don't think I hate him.' Yes. 'Please let him get up again,' and I started praying for my father. That prayer didn't seem to be heard. But at that time, the story my mother told me came to mind. 'Sang-ae, this world was all created by God. God, this world, you, Father, and I, were all made by God. Sang-ae, you are a gift God gave me. It's not Mom's. You are God's.' Then my prayer sounded so empty. Because everything is God's, and I am praying with that. My father is also God's, so why am I saying save him or not? Why am I asking for it? All the conditions I said I would give if He saved him, my things are also all God's. I have nothing to give. So God, after worrying and worrying, what did I pray? 'No, everything in this world is God's, so I have nothing to give. So, please let me think that what You gave me is mine.'

'If You save my father, I will give my youth.' And I prayed at that time. I don't know well, but I read the Bible, and among the things I have, the most precious thing seems to be my youth. 'I will give the most precious thing, so please save my father.' I don't want this story to end like this. And while praying, another thought came to mind. 'God, I thought I was wise, but I was a fool. I was an idiot. I didn't know anything. I was an arrogant person.' 'God, please fill me with wisdom.' Yes. 'Save my father and make me a new, wise person.' 'If so, I will not waste that time and will study hard.' I became a pharmacist, but I didn't study anything. 'I will study to become a new doctor.' So at that time, God, please help me. And amazingly, from then on, my father started to get better.

Every time I went to the hospital, I knew the reason why he was sick, and my father recovered. Yes. Then what should I do now? I have to give my youth, ah, I have to give something surprising. But I don't know how to give my youth. So I started reading the Bible for the first time. But while reading the Four Gospels in the Bible, I read a story I really couldn't understand. 'For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.' Before I met Him, Jesus Christ had already come to this earth. 'Jesus said, Arise, take up your bed and walk.' But I saw Jesus' life, and He lived for others all His life. He didn't have the power to use that strength for Himself even for a single moment. Then shouldn't everyone respect Him, honor Him, and praise Him? But everyone is persecuting Him. He lived only for people, but all those people are persecuting that Jesus and hanging Him on the cross.

I couldn't understand that. 'How on earth can that be?' while I was thinking, my father came to mind. My father who persecuted my mother just because she believed in Jesus came to mind, and I who persecuted my mother for talking about Jesus came to mind. I who told my mother to get out immediately and told her not to take out that Bible to me came to mind. Only then did I know. Everyone, who was the person who persecuted Jesus? It was me. 'I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.' I confess that I met Jesus at that time. But the Jesus I met was not someone sitting on a golden throne that the world envies, eating delicious food, and having authority. When I met Jesus, that Jesus was hanging on the cross. I was moved by that and had a desire to obey that Jesus. Not giving myself like a slave, but I had a desire to obey Jesus who is in a lower place than me.

I read the word again. 'God, I want to obey You.' 'How can I obey?' Then God met me with the word. 'The word is God.' 'If anyone wants to do God's will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.' So I was so moved by this word, and I knew that if I wanted to give my youth to God and obey the work God commands, I had to do God's word. From then on, when I read the word, I tried to practice that word. [Snorts] The word I read at that time was not to drink alcohol. Yes. When I was in the military, I am truly sorry and ashamed, but I drank alcohol. I had so many friends. So from then on, I called all my friends to one place and asked them not to call me because I wouldn't drink alcohol from today on. [Snorts] And God seemed to tell me not to drink alcohol and not to go to drinking parties, so I told them not to find me or call me. At that time, one friend was so upset and I don't know how much he scolded me. 'How can you do that?' 'How can a person do that?' But I told that friend the story I told yesterday and today.

'Brother, I played better than you and had more worldly greed. But now, it seems like that is so useless.' 'Ah, I came to know God, and I want to study hard.' I was 29 years old. 'Brother, what are you going to do by studying now?' he scolded me. 'Ah, I don't care about that. It doesn't matter if it's late. I don't want to live like before from now on.' 'Brother, what are you going to study for?' 'So I wanted to become a doctor.' 'No, what kind of doctor are you going to become at 29, just continue being the pharmacist you were doing.' He is from Ulsan, so he said that. I told him every day. 'Still, I will continue to do this.' But one day, that friend kicked the door of my pharmacy, where I was a pharmacist, and came in. I didn't have a dream. I was almost last. God, if I, the words my father always said were, 'I am the smartest in the world, but there is no God.' 'I am the smartest in the world, but what can a foolish Mom do?' That was the kind of words. God, if I, I become smarter than my father and show him the appearance of serving God, my father will never be able to say that again, I thought. But my goal was to become smarter than my father. But to become smarter than my father, I need a comparison target, but I can't compare. So I wanted to go to the same university. I wanted to be evaluated as superior to my father at the same university. And then I have to show my father the appearance of serving God. But amazingly, when I started studying, what I did because I didn't know what to study was English study. Because I couldn't do anything, I only studied English without knowing the method. But they said they would look at English for this medical school exam. Wow.

English, I only studied English, so I was very good at English. But amazingly, this Pusan National University is the only one, only this Pusan National University, that almost doesn't look at the school record. Even there is no cutoff line. Everyone can apply, and there is almost no evaluation score, but they said they would look at most of the scores in English. Wow, God, the only university I can go to is Pusan National University. It's a university I wanted to go to so much. So I truly, truly went to this Pusan National University by God's grace. When I went to this Pusan National University, I asked God for wisdom once again. Now I cannot live as I say. The word God gave me at that time was this word. 'Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men.' This word, it was truly, truly engraved in my heart. 'I must excel in my work.' 'Then I will stand before a king.' 'Let's see who the king is.' That was my thought.

But what is a student excelling in? Yes. It was studying well. Even though I am at a very late age, studying well was my death. I don't know how hard I studied. Because I don't know how to study, I don't know how I should study. I have never studied. Even if I go here, if I buy 12 books and keep looking at them, there is nothing. So I decided on my own method. 'God, I don't have the confidence to study well.' 'So I don't know what rank I will be, and I don't have the confidence to do well, so please let me keep only the promise with You.' That promise is this. 'I will never be late.' Yes. But because I only solved exam questions to pass the exam until before this, I didn't know anything. I was a tin can, a noisy empty cart, a tin can, and I didn't have knowledge. So from this time on, I thought of it as time God gave me and started reading original books. 'God, it's okay if I don't take the exam well.' 'Please let me understand the providence God created this world.' I read books and previewed in advance. While studying in advance. Yes. There wasn't a single question I didn't know. It was all the problems I had taught and taught and taught again, the ones I was so sick of, all there. Yes. And then the first exam results came out, what place was I? Ah, no. But that's why I got hurt. I thought I was definitely first place. Do you know why? Satan wasn't just sitting there. At that moment, in that split second, Satan planted pride in my heart. Yes. He planted feelings of jealousy and hatred toward others. The results came out, and I was 28th out of 116. In that depression, I couldn't find my way on how to study. I really felt like, 'I'm not going to look at the original texts anymore. I'm going to study to get good grades too.' That kind of heart arose. I fell before God like that and asked God for wisdom, but people become so cowardly in this. Then, within the Word, God spoke to me again. God let me see my sins first. 'For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.' Reading this, I saw my pride and my selfishness. While I said I was giving my days to God, what was I chasing? Yes, yes. I was seeking my honor, my wealth, my authority, and my own things. And then God gave me comfort after letting me know my sins. 'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.' 'The lips of him who has understanding seek wisdom, and the king becomes his friend.'

Be wise as serpents. Everyone, I tried to be wise as a serpent, but God gave me the next verse: 'Be innocent as doves.' From this point on, I didn't study to beat others. 'Oh, God, I was competing. I will lay it all down. I will not be envious. Yes. I will acknowledge now that being number one in the world is not my share. From this moment on, the worldly wealth and honor of my life are not mine. Yes. I want to live for God's glory.' And then I studied the same way. I read the original texts, whether it was on the exam or not, because I needed to know. But I was about to have a urology class, and I was studying obstetrics and gynecology. But there was no end. Because of that, the professors hated me a lot and it was a mess. But that urology professor was our medical school dean. He was angry and came in. But at that time, when I had such trials, my friends also started to hate me. 'You're too intense. You seem to be showing off too much.' It was when I was receiving such hatred, so when I was worrying about what I should do before God, the professor came in and while teaching, he always said, 'Ask me this. Does anyone know this?' He said things like that, but that day he didn't teach anything and said, 'Ask me one question, anything is fine.' But the dean was so angry that there were many rumors that he would discipline us. So the class representative, the monitor, had us pick up every piece of trash, line up, and sit straight. Who could ask a question in that state?

It was quiet. So the professor started getting angry, 'Hey, you fools.' He started getting angry, saying that because we were such immoral kids who caused such problems, we couldn't even ask questions. 'You don't know anything, you're just a mess,' he started yelling.
